2007 US Squash Skill Level Championships

Entry Deadline

Entries and payments must be received by Thursday, February 1st, 2007, 5:00 PM EST. No phone or fax entries accepted. No refunds will be provided after the Entry Deadline. Online entry is available.

MEN'S SKILL LEVEL DIVISIONS:

Eligibility

Players must be current members of US Squash through the last day of the tournament. Players' rating must fall within the range of division entered, as of February 12th, 2007. Players must have played in at least one US Squash sanctioned tournament (skill level or age group) or in two US Squash sanctioned league matches between April 1st, 2006 and February 11th, 2007. The tournament committee reserves the right to place a player in a division other than that which they have entered or which their rating might reflect in order to maintain appropriate competitiveness in draws.

Format and Scoring

The tournament will include a full feed in consolation. Matches will be best 3 out of 5 games to 9 points international scoring. The 6.5 division will be best 3 out of 5 games to 11 points, point-a-rally scoring.

*There is a $50 discount for players under 25 years of age.

NOTE: For divisions not filled by 8, 16, 32 or 64, late entries may be accepted at US Squash's discretion.

Final Cut List and Start Times

Final Cut List will be posted to US Squash News on February 12th, 2007.
Division start times will be posted to US Squash News on February 16th, 2007.
Player start times will be posted to US Squash News on February 20th, 2007.

Tournament Registration

Registration will be available at all clubs, starting at 12 Noon, on Thursday, February 22nd, 2007. Players should register at the club where their first round match is taking place.

Tournament Location and Information

The tournament will be held at the Princeton Club, featuring two international courts; the Harvard Club featuring four international courts; the Yale Club featuring three international courts; the Printing House Fitness Center, featuring four international courts; and the Sports Club LA, featuring five international courts. Lockers and towels will not be provided.

Transportation and Parking

Transportation will not be provided. Most clubs are within walking distance or accessible via public transportation. There are parking garages near each venue.

Accommodations

Special rates, of $199 per night for single and double occupancy rooms, may be secured at the Roosevelt Hotel. Please mention "US Squash" or "US Squash Skill Level Championships". Please reserve your room as early as possible as rooms are limited. Reservations must be made by January 31, 2007 to receive the special rate.

Players must be prepared to play at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 22nd.

Bear Stearns Tournament of Champions at Grand Central Station

Match play at the Bear Stearns Tournament of Champions takes places during two sessions each day; the afternoon session which starts at 12 PM, and the evening session which starts at 6 PM. All players will have unlimited viewing access to the Tournament of Champions for the Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday evening sessions. Limited viewing access will be available for the Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon sessions (players will have viewing access to 2 of the 4 matches at each of these sessions). There will be social events for players and guests on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Meals

Lunch will be provided for players on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES

Attire

Competitors must wear appropriate squash attire.

Ball

Dunlop Revelation Pro (double yellow dot) will be the official ball.

Code of Conduct

The US Squash Code of Conduct Rules and Regulations apply.

Divisions

Players may only play in one division.

Protective Eyewear

ASTM-F803 approved protective eyewear must be worn by all players at all times while on court. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

Refereeing

Winner of matches will be required to referee a match during the next scheduled match time. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

Refunds

No refunds will be provided to players eligible for the tournament after the Entry Deadline. Refunds will be provided to ineligible entrants.

Sanctioning

The tournament is Sanctioned by US Squash.
